My first go at drawing the band members. I was specifically looking for distinctive shapes to tell them apart. Though I loved the show as a kid, I felt their cookie-cutter shapes were unmemorable. It seems that girl franchises are getting more into making characters more individual, like with Monster High and their unique (though always glamorous) facial shapes.

Please please please say you'll keep working on these, you may not have got a response but I think it's an amazing idea. It's refreshing take on the kind of standard beauty queens we had in the original show (still loved it, but you know :P). These girls are already buzzing with personality and individuality just with the way they're designed- really beautiful concept work. x

I think what i love most about these is that you gave them each their own unique style. more unique than usual anyway, because in the show they were all just the most 80s thing i have ever seen, and while they still look a bit like that they certainly look more like they have their own styles here. Fantastic job <3

Thank you!! Yeah after seeing the show I really wanted them to be more like individuals. I don't know how smart that'd be for a toy line, but animation wise it helps to keep them distinct!

You did a good job. I also liked how you added personality to the characters.
I've been watching Jem a lot since it's been on the Hub, and I noticed that even though they gave Aja and Shana there own personalities and interests, neither of them really stood out from each other. And don't get me started on Raya.....
